Magnificent replica of an authentic 17th-century Portuguese Azulejo.

This Azulejo is a real clay tile, glazed on one side, and entirely hand-painted, reproducing ancient techniques that allow for its varied color nuances.

This Azulejo is painted by an artisan who usually specializes in restoring ancient Azulejos.

A beautiful decorative object, it can be used as is, as a paperweight, coaster, or even a trivet. It can also be framed for display. Resistant to moisture and temperature variations, it can be mounted on an interior or exterior wall.

Why I Love It

  • A faithful reproduction of a 17th-century Portuguese Azulejo.
  • The delicacy of the painter's gesture, making it a unique object.

    More Informations

The "Padrão" Azulejos appeared in Portugal in the early 17th century and are characterized by their geometric or plant motifs. The motifs are arranged so that the juxtaposition of several Azulejos creates a panel with a wider pattern.

Their colors evolved from blue and yellow on white in the early 17th century to a predominance of dark blue and turquoise blue by the end of the century.
