This azulejo is a real clay tile, glazed on one of its sides, handcrafted according to traditional manufacturing methods and entirely hand-painted, reproducing the old gestures that made it possible to obtain all its shades of colors

Padrão" azulejos appeared in Portugal in the early 17th century and are characterized by their geometric or plant motifs. The motifs are arranged in such a way that the juxtaposition of several tiles creates a panel with a larger pattern.
Their colors evolved from blue and yellow on white in the early 17th century to a predominance of dark blue and turquoise towards the end of the century.
